Ⅰ. What is FTTH fiber termination box

The optical fiber terminal box is the end connector of an optical cable, one end of which is an optical cable, and the other end is a pigtail. It is equivalent to a device that splits an optical cable into a single optical fiber, and a user optical termination box installed on the wall. Its function is to provide optical fiber and optical fiber fusion, optical fiber and pigtail fusion, and optical connector handover. At the same time, it provides mechanical protection and environmental protection for the optical fiber and its components, and allows proper inspections to maintain the highest standards of optical fiber management.

Ⅱ. The function of FTTH fiber termination box

1. After the fixed function optical cable enters the rack, the outer sheath and reinforcing core of the fiber termination box shall be mechanically fixed, ground wire protection parts shall be installed, end protection treatment shall be carried out, and the optical fibers shall be grouped and protected.

2. The fiber optic termination box has a fusion splicing function. After fusion splicing the optical fiber drawn from the optical cable with the tail cable, the excess optical fiber is coiled and stored, and the spliced joint is protected.

3. The deployment function of the optical fiber terminal box connects the connector attached to the tail cable to the adapter, and realizes the optical connection with the optical connector on the other side of the adapter. Adapters and connectors should be able to plug and unplug flexibly. The light path can be freely adjusted and tested.

4. The storage function provides storage for various cross-connected optical cables between racks, enabling them to be placed in a regular and orderly manner. There should be an appropriate space and method in the optical fiber terminal box to make the wiring of this part of the optical connection line clear, easy to adjust, and to meet the requirements of the minimum bending radius. With the development of optical fiber networks, the existing functions of optical fiber terminal boxes can no longer meet many new requirements. Some manufacturers add some optical fiber network components such as optical splitters, wavelength division multiplexers and optical switches directly to the optical fiber terminal box.
